The Location

AN IDYLLIC LOCATION ON THE NORTH CORNWALL COAST THAT IS DELIGHTFULLY RESTFUL

So where is
Old Pear Tree Barn?

A mile of golden beach, endless vistas of perfect Atlantic swell, a scattering of warm rock pools and a backdrop of Bond movie-famous sand dunes all combine to make Holywell Bay a blissful holiday hangout for families and adrenaline-seekers.

Holywell Bay is a beach resort that sits six miles west of Newquay, making it an off-the-beaten track option for those who head to north Cornwall for its exceptional surf, luxury beach rentals and celebrity chef-owned restaurants. Holywell Bay’s golf club, boasting two 18-hole courses, offers something for all level of golfers. As it is situated on the North Cornwall coastline, the club offers first class fairways and coastal views overlooking the National Trust protected beach. When the sun melts into the sea and the beach crowds disperse back to their seaside holiday homes, there’s nothing more humbling than watching the tide wash away the footprints and return to a vision reminiscent of an undiscovered desert island beach.

Just six miles from Cornwall’s surfing mecca Newquay, Holywell Bay benefits from a rarely surfed beach break on the north Cornwall coast. This beautiful unspoilt stretch of coastline is sandwiched between Perranporth and Fistral beach, each havens for surfers who visit this part of Cornwall to get their big wave fix. To stay near Holywell Bay and not try your hand at surfing would be just as much a local crime as not tasting a traditional Cornish pasty. With expert private surf schools such as the Holywell Bay School of Surf right on the beach, taking to the waves has never been easier. Holywell Bay is the perfect location for a surf escape and/or quiet luxury break!
